Lyceum Bowling League begins 71st season

The Mount Carmel Lyceum bowling league began its historical 71st season on September 7. The league began in 1945 and has been active ever since. It is one of the longest running leagues in Hudson County. While new members join the league, past members also return back to the league, bringing together the old with the new. The league officers and bowlers proudly celebrated the storied history and stamina of the league on the opening night of the 2016/17 season.

The following are the results of the league for September 7th:

Emil Massa was the top kegler in the league tossing a 655 series. Emil had no problem with dominating the lanes with games of 237-207-211.

Other individual high games for the week went to: Ken Korzun – 164, Robert Magarban – 222, David Magarban – 219, Frank Polomski – 143, Al Gill – 194, John Kaczka – 213, Ed Lubach Sr. – 184, Ed Lubach Jr. – 192, Frank Giovinazzo – 173, Jack Nilan – 208, Harry Ashe – 181, John McCollum – 182, Kerry Fryczynski – 182, Adam Konecko – 160, Robert Lesiak – 161, Artie Bernard Jr. – 180, Steve Mallardi Jr. – 156, Joe Beebe – 191.

The team results were: Amspec Services taking 3 points from Fryczynski’s Funeral Home; John’s Midtown Tavern taking 7 from I.B.E.W. Local 94; Supreme Tours took 7 from The Starting Point Bar & Grill; and TBA taking 5 points from Dworzanski’s Funeral Home.
