Man killed, three women wounded, in Van Wagenen Avenue shooting

JERSEY CITY – Shaheer Parson, 35, of Jersey City, was killed, and three women were wounded as a result of an early morning shooting on Sept. 11.
In a release, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said that on Sept. 11 at approximately 2:10 a.m., Jersey City Police were dispatched to Van Wagenen Avenue in Jersey City on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival at 87 Van Wagenen Avenue, police found an unresponsive male victim, Parson, with gunshots to his upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:20 a.m. According to the release, Police Officers also found three female victims, ages 24, 32, and 35, all of Jersey City, with non-life threatening injuries at 95 Van Wagenen Avenue.
All three female victims were treated at the scene and transported to Jersey City Medical Center for additional treatment, where they were listed in stable condition, according to authorities. No arrests have been made in connection with the shootings. The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
