NB C.A.R.E.S. or North Bergen Community Assistance Relief Events & Support hosted the township’s annual back-to-school drive and uniform exchange at the Recreation Center on Thursday, Sept. 1. Hundreds of residents attended the day-long event, loading up on every kind of school supply: backpacks, notebooks, binders, pens and pencils, rulers, calculators, glue sticks, markers, and much, much more.

Also available were new or gently used school uniforms for kids of various ages. All items were generously donated by caring individuals, businesses, and organizations including Walsh Pest Elimination and the Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation. Among those on hand to help with distribution were Parks and Public Property Commissioner Hugo Cabrera and Deputy Director James Avella.
