A mass of Christian burial was held Sept. 6 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Three Bridges, for Gerald Albanese, 75, of Neshanic Station N.J. He died Sept. 1 at home with his family by his side. Born in Agrigento, Sicily, Italy, Jerry was the son of the late Joseph and Concetta Albanese. He resided in Italy until 1954 when his family came to the United States. Jerry, his father and his brothers owned and operated J. Albanese Construction Co. in Jersey City. Jerry retired in 2010. Jerry has been married to his wife, Michaelene for 36 years, and together they shared a love of dogs and horses. Many of their dogs won numerous field competitions. He was a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, the National German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, the Eastern German Shorthaired Pointer Club, Vizsla Club of Northern New Jersey, the English Setter Club of America, a Vice President of the NGSPA Pheasant Association, a member of the Olde Barn Gun Club, as well as an avid AKC and National NGSPA Field Trial Competitor and Judge.
Predeceased by his parents, Jerry had many nieces and nephews who loved him to the moon and back. He was predeceased by Thomas and survived by his wife Michaelene, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Salvatore and Lorraine Albanese of Bayonne, and Alphonse and Madeline Albanese of Lodi, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Concetta and Salvatore Chianetta of Little Ferry, and Santina and Alaa Eldin of Englewood Cliffs, his nieces and nephews, Nina, Philip, Joseph, Anthony, Sherri, and Ali, as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
