WEST NEW YORK — Media reports said that on Friday, police found more than 80 cats and dogs (mostly cats) in small cages in a West New York apartment after a neighbor reported an unusual smell.
The case mirrors one just five months ago in which more than 50 animals were rescued from a house in North Bergen. In that case, the resident of the house allegedly went on the lam when investigators came around.
The West New York building is located on 52nd Street.
Media reports said two people were arrested.
We will have more on this breaking story in future editions of the West New York Reporter.
