Summer employment application period extended

The West New York Division of Recreation has announced a three-week extension for applying to the 2016 Summer Employment Program until Friday, May 27. Applications are available in Commissioner Cosmo A. Cirillo`s office at Town Hall, 428 60th St., Suite 6, Monday through Friday from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. All applicants must be at least fifteen years of age and currently reside in West New York.
Applicants must present a valid New Jersey driver’s license or Non-Driver ID and a valid Social Security card which will be photocopied for town records. (Visit www.NJMVC.gov for information regarding the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.)
The two main purposes for this new policy are to ensure that town residents are given first priority for employment and to prevent document fraud.
Working papers must be readily available for all high school students who apply. The documents will only be requested if the applicant is chosen for employment. Call (201) 295-5024 with questions or concerns.

Help charity at Walgreens Pharmacy May 14

A fundraising event hosted by NBC and Walgreens Pharmacy on May 14 will be held at the Walgreens on 3508 Kennedy Boulevard in Union City from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Red Nose Day fundraising event raises money for children living in poverty.
Last year Red Nose Day raised 23 million dollars with Walgreens Pharmacy doing 8.7 Million. This year their goal is to reach $9,000.
They will have live music, dance, food, and children’s activities in order to raise money.
