To the Editor:
Thanks to the police for their massive ticketing blitz on Kennedy Boulevard. The street has been a drag strip for far too long. The majority of motorists ignore red lights if they can. The law says that technically a yellow light signifies prepare to stop, instead of racing through it. Those who park on the Boulevard, such as myself, are better off waiting for gaps in the traffic before they open their car doors. Equally, when spotting a motorist opening the door of a parked car, it’s better to be group-minded and try to get in the Boulevard’s left lane to avoid an accident if one is able to do so. Hopefully, the party’s over, and thank God we don’t live near a Queens Boulevard or a Grand Concourse. This is New Jersey, after all!
