Missing Cape May County man found after car found in Hoboken

HOBOKEN – The car of a Cape May County man missing since March 31 was found Saturday, April 16 in Hoboken, according to Hoboken police officials. Then, on Tuesday, police reported that Carl Suit himself was found in another state.

At one point, the 35-year-old of the Villas district of Lower Township, N.J., was caught on a surveillance camera in Colorado, according to a post by someone on MissingPersonofAmerica.com. A private investigator has been hired by the family.

“A [resident] saw a car she recalled seeing on social media on Saturday and when our officers went to [the Little Man Parking Garage on 12th Street], they ran the plate and the owner was confirmed as the missing endangered person,” said Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante over the phone on Tuesday morning.

They searched the tan 2013 Kia Soul, according to Ferrante, after Suit’s wife arrived to let them in. They found “nothing showing in the car indicated he was looking to harm himself.” Officers also did not find a note in the car.

A Facebook group was created to find Suit, called “Missing Endangered: Carl Suit.”

“Although recent reports have said that he may have left under his own power or because he was under some sort of stress and wanted to get away, none of those reports have been confirmed or validated by law enforcement or myself,” private investigator Kevin Ryan posted in a statement after the discovery of the car. “We have been working a variety of leads since the beginning, as well as conducting other investigative tactics in attempts to determine where Carl may be.”

Ferrante said the Hoboken Police Department have shared their information with the Lower Township County and have no more part in the case. – Steven Rodas
