As spring makes its way back, so do Hoboken’s traditional egg hunts. Despite some snowfall last Sunday, Saturday March 19 was sunny enough for thousands to enjoy Hoboken Grace Community Church’s Easter Egg Hunt.
More than 4,000 people registered for the egg hunt, which organizers split into two events on the same day to fill demand.
Shaky egg races, face-painting, pictures with the Easter bunny (four actually), bouncy houses and giant tic-tac-toe are just a glimpse of the outdoor revelries.

With baskets in hand children scrambled for yellow, blue, and green eggs as parents fought the instinct to join in. In all, 20,000 eggs were commissioned for the free event.
Hoboken Family Alliance also held their Spring Fling Egg Hunt at Columbus Park on Saturday morning.
Will this year’s big crowds warrant a third egg hunt on the same day next year? Organizers haven’t confirmed, but it’s certainly an “egg-citing” prospect.
