Subacz sets pace for Comets victory

At (2-0) the Rockets sit atop the JCC of Bayonne’s Sr. Division indoor soccer league’s standing, but a red hot (1-1) Comets came into the week two bout as a confident bunch. Brawling to a 2-2 tie with Harsh Easwar and Dylan Subacz racking up goals for the Comets while the Rockets’ Thomas Arias handled all the scoring for his squad. Just as they had done in their 6-3 victory over the Sonics, the Comets’ offense roared into high gear as Subacz (2 goals), Easwar (1 goal, 2 assists) and Alejandro Cifuentes (1 assist) fueled the attack putting the Comets up 5- 2. Rallying the troops with pinpoint passing by Emya Irwin, Nicholas DePinto, and Kyle O’Hara the Rockets hit their stride as Thomas Arias cashed in by netting his third and fourth goal of the game. Back in the hunt but still trailing 5-4, the Rockets kept blasting away but two key defensive stops by the Comets’ Aaliyana Cifuentes helped her squad escape with a 5-4 win.
