HUDSON COUNTY — CarePoint confirmed that the company has laid off employees from its three Hudson County hospitals.
CarePoint Health spokesman Jarrod Bernstein said, however, this accounted for less than 2 percent of the total work force.
CarePoint employes around 4,500 people in its system that includes Christ Hospital in Jersey City, Bayonne Medical Center, and Hoboken University Medical Center.
Of about the 90 employees laid off, Bernstein said about two dozen were union employees.
The cuts, however, will not affect patient care, Bernstein said.
