Dear Editor:
The word resilience is the key word to impede into our minds before another disaster besiege right through the great City of Hoboken again. Through the efforts of Mayor Dawn Zimmer the City of Hoboken was earmarked $230 million dollars as part of its Rebuild by Design initiative which is almost like winning the lottery and although it is a lot of money we must come to consummate reasoning and work alongside each other to plan for the long-term prospect of the City of Hoboken. Everyone has an obligation to make sure the City of Hoboken is protected against flash flooding and storm surges. We simply must do something! The resist, delay, store, discharge is not a sluggish prospect it must be an innovative and thorough decision for us to have elucidation for the security and protection for all residents of the City of Hoboken. How do we act in response the next time to another hurricane or enormous flooding that may be twice as big as Sandy?
The rebuild by design process is our responsibility meaning for the entire City of Hoboken to implement solutions, get involved, provide feedback and help to improve the quality of life regarding our city greatest needs. I encourage everyone not just residents from one part of the town but everyone from the entire city to enquire, research, make relevance to find out as much as possible about the rebuild by design process. Communally we must not soothe the actions to simply not do anything and rebuild by design process shouldn’t be a failed plan. Together we should know that if we do nothing the consequences are inevitable such as massive damage in cost and property, death, personal injury and business disturbances. The City of Hoboken have seen and felt the impact of Super Storm Sandy and taking the no mitigating approach is simply not an option. We simply have to be prepared!
Sincerely,
