Colts crowned, Cifuentes sets record with 411 points

After brawling through a JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Jr. flag football playoff donnybrook with the Jets, the now (9-4) Colts faced the high powered (8-4) Bears to decide this year’s champion. Relying on their “Tried and True” weapons, the Colts’ Aaliyana “Starfire” Cifuentes rang up 5 TD’s and 10 expts while the Bears’ Dylan Subacz kept the scoreboard spinning with 7 TD’s and 6 expts. While the stars ruled the stage, the Colts and the Bears championship battle came down to a bunch of “old school” players who made big plays on the big stage. With Subacz and Cifuentes going toe to toe, the Colts’ David Matos racked up 24 points with 4 TD’s with Brenden McCall tacking on 2 points. Not to be outdone, the Bears got a boost from Adonis White as he bulled in 12 points. With each squad’s defense in moth balls, the offensive fireworks ruled the way as the Colts held on for a 66- 60 win. A special mention must be given to the Bears Anthony Fraser for his leadership no matter what the score was.

Additionally, the following were recognized as exceptional players for the Jr. Division, Week 10:

Offensive Player of the Week: AaliyanaCifuentes – Colts
Defensive Player of the Week: Chase Cohen -Jets
