No obstacles

To the Editor:

The day before Christmas Eve a truly special event took place in Bayonne: The Reindeer Obstacle Course, a free event for children with Special Needs. Over 50 children and their parents were treated to a wonderful holiday event at City Sports Arena on Gertrude Street, which included an obstacle course customized by Children’s Specialized Hospital Bayonne, especially, Therapists- Nicole Perez, Nicole Falgiano & Kajsa Cappello. The event began with Bayonne Firemen greeting the children & an amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, followed by the Pledge and beautiful acappella of Bayonne High School Choir. All of the children received “medals” then had free play on the bounce house and in the arena. Surprise visits & pictures (Caryn Lagreca Photography) with Peppa Pig, and the Frozen Princesses, Anna & Elsa… followed by a magnificent Santa- Ray Delgado… Freeholder Ken Kopacz purchased and donated presents for each child. Mona Lisa’s sent over pizzas for everyone (including gluten-free pies) & Perk Up Cafe donated water & juices. It was truly a magical event. The happiness is the children’s eyes said it all. And I want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart to all of these individuals; This event was completely free thanks to them: City Sports Arena – Heather & Chris Piechoki, Victor & Jussara pesantez, Lisa Burke, Michael DeMaria, Freeholder Ken Kopacz, Caryn Lagreca Photography, Ray Delgado,John kennedy, Mona Lisa Pizzeria, Perk Up Cafe,BCB – Bayonne Community Bank, BHS Choir, Infinite Therapy Solutions, Reece’s Hair Pieces, Carissa Golomb, My Hammer Construction, Vital Signs, Bayonne Fire Department, “VolunDeers”: Caitlin Perry, Alyssa Gonzalez, Hannah Baldonado, Isabella Colon.
