Subacz Racks up 50 Points as Bears Win

After suffering their first defeat of the season, the now (2-1) Bears faced another offensive power house going head to head with the (0-3) Jets in a JCC of Bayonne’sIndoor Flag Football Jr. Division tussle. Playing with their defenses “up on blocks”, both squads seemed to score at will. Getting on the board first, the Bears’ Dylan Subacz zipped goal to goal making it 6-0, Bears. One play later, the Jets’ Chase Cohen roared to paydirt on a full court dash followed by a Jack Kruchkowski two point grab. Trailing 8-6, the Bears’ Dylan Subacz made it 12-8 on a 27 yard TD toss but once again the Jets answered as Chase Cohen returned to the end zone on a 10 yard dart and a two point sprint as the Jets went up 16-12. With his “frequent flyer” miles piling up, the Bears’ Dylan Subacz torched the court for his third TD and after Subacz’s two point sweep the Bears held a slim 20-16 advantage. For the Jets, the second half turned into a Jack Kruchkowski highlight reel as Kruchkowski racked up 3 TD’s and 4 extra points. Unfortunately for the Jets, the Bears’ Dylan Subacz had his own starring role to play as he put up 3 TD’s and 6 extra points. Holding on to a 38-36 lead, the Jets fell prey to another TD run by Subacz and after a two point grab by Adonis White the Jets found themselves trailing 44-38 with less than two minutes remaining. After two near misses to the end zone, the Jets finally knotted the scoring brawl at 44-44 with a Chase Cohen 30 yard gallop. As the clock slipped to the 22 second mark, the patient Bears took a 52- 44 lead on another Dylan Subacz TD catch and a two point haul. With one chance left, the Jets’ hopes were dashed as the Bears’ Dylan Subacz sealed the Bears’ victory on a game saving interception. A special mention must be given to the Bears’ Anthony Fraser for his outstanding defensive effort when the game was on the line.
