Subacz stars as Bears prevail

Rolling into the 2015 season, the Colts and Bears took to the court for a JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Indoor Flag Football bout. Embarking on a scoring seesaw battle, the Bears went up 6-0 on Dylan Subacz’s wire to wire TD grab. One play later, the Colts answered as Aaliyana Cifuentes raced full court to paydirt followed by her P.A.T. catch to put the Colts up 7-6. After a hardnosed defensive stand, the Colts stretched their lead to 15-6 as Aaliyana Cifuentes tallied her second TD while Brenden McCall tacked on a two point conversion. Staying with their air attack, the Bears closed the gap to 15-12 on a 15 yard TD toss to Dylan Subacz. Mounting their own defensive stand, the Bears cashed in as their high flying offense made it 19-15 as Anthony Fraser hauled in a TD pass followed by Adonis White’s extra point snare. With Cifuentes drawing double coverage, the Colts’ Brenden McCall turned a short flare pass into a 20 yard TD scamper as the Colts went up 21-19. After a ground pounding drive with three straight running plays, the Bears returned to the air as Dylan Subacz notched his 3rd TD reception making it 25-21, Bears. As the second half got underway, the Colts regained the lead as David Matos reeled in a TD dart with Aaliyana Cifuentes adding a two point catch to put the Colts ahead 29-25. The toe to toe tempo continued as the Bears’ Dylan Subacz found the endzone on a 30 yard TD strike and a two point grab as the Bears took a 33-29 advantage. With just 10 seconds left on the clock, the Colts seemed to seal the victory on another coast to coast TD sprint by Cifuentes making it 35-33 but with one second remaining the Bears’ Dylan Subacz stunned the house with a zone to zone scoring bomb as the Bears clinched a hard fought 39-35 victory.
