90, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2015, with his loving family by his side. John was born in Bayonne and lived there lifelong. He was a Warehouseman for EXXON Corporation in Bayonne for 41 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman First Class. He was a member of the EXXON Annuitants, Saint Andrew’s Holy Name Society and was a Boy Scout Leader-Troop #2 (Saint Andrew’s Church). Husband of Kathleen M. (nee: Carroll). Father of John Opel, and the late William Opel and his living Wife Patricia (nee: Buckman). Grandfather of William Opel, John Opel and Mary Kate Opel. Brother of the late Elizabeth Opel.
