To the Editor:
My name is Leonard R. Kantor and I am writing this letter as a candidate for the newly elected school board. It now gives us the opportunity to do away with politics controlling our public school system.
It appears that our newly elected Mayor James Davis has a very short memory. While running for mayor he publicly supported a change to an elected school board. Now that he has a loss of memory he is politically endorsing five candidates for the school board election on Nov. 3.
He reminds me of a political coin that has two faces on it. It proves that the majority of politicians are two faced. They promised the voters one thing and when elected they do what benefits themselves, and the public be dammed.
When a person has no integrity or principles, how can anyone respect them? I as a candidate seek no endorsements or contributions but just the support of the voters who believe in what I want to do to improve our public school system. I ask the voters to please not vote for the mayor’s endorsed candidates. If they were truly independent candidates they would have refused his endorsement. If they win then we are back to a politically appointed school board.
I say to the residents of our city who will vote in this very important election, your election, that my word is my bond. My only concern is to correct what is wrong and improve what should be right for the betterment of all our students. There will be hard work ahead but with determination and perseverance we can succeed. Please help me to help you. Vote for Leonard R. Kantor, 3D, Election Day Nov. 3. Thank you one and all!
LEONARD KANTOR
