The September 11th…Bayonne Remembers Committee held its annual Interfaith Memorial Service and Candlelight Vigil on Friday, September 11, 2015.
The Committee wishes to thank the participating members of the Clergy, including Rev. Joseph F. Barbone, who served as Master of Ceremonies; Rev. John Fencik; Rev. Alfie Pangilinan; Rev. Gary Grindeland; Rev. Dorothy A. Patterson; Rev. Raul Gaviola; Rabbi Marc Disick; and Waheed Akbar Mirha from the Muslim Center for the heartfelt prayers, readings and reflections.
Special thanks, also, to Mayor James M. Davis; the Bayonne Municipal Council; Dr. Joseph Ryan; Bayonne Police and Fire Departments; Veterans’ Groups; Color Guards from the Bayonne Fire Department, Bayonne Police Department, United States Naval Coast Guard Sea Cadets, Knights of Columbus; and Bayonne Memorial Day Parade Committee; the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Dr. Patricia L. McGeehan, Superintendent of Schools; Tim Craig, Director of Business Services at Bayonne High School; Gyasi Blanton, Director of the Bayonne High School Honors Choir; Detective William Petersen, BPD, Bagpiper; Valentine Koltunowiz, Taps; Gary Chmielewski, Director of Bayonne Public Works Department; Peter Amadeo, Supervisor, Bayonne Parks and Recreation; the Bayonne High School Honors Choir; Bayonne Fire Canteen, and all who attended the Service.
