When he was only six years old and growing up in Moscow Russia, Viktor Vishnyakov took an interest in a sport that would become a big part of his life.
Once his interest in soccer developed, Viktor soon became involved with the FSM Soccer Academy in Moscow which led to a career with the Russian National Youth Team. He would go on to play professionally with SKA FSM and Lokomotiv SC in Moscow, and after retiring as a player, entered the national referee academy.
He moved to U.S. and soon became a valued member of New Jersey referee community from 1999 through 2015. Viktor not only served as an NJSA referee, but also earned a US National coaching “C” license.
Over the last few years, Victor spends his free time with the children. In a park in Bayonne, Viktor conducts soccer classes for children. He has named his team “Viktor’s Stars” after the future soccer stars he is training.
“The soccer program is progressing in Bayonne,” says Viktor. “Many children dream of playing this game. We hope our children grow up healthy and that exercise would remove bad habits.”
However, Viktor believes that, currently, the conditions in Bayonne are not sufficient for the development of youth soccer. “I want to believe that ‘Victor’s Stars’ is a small beginning of a big soccer movement in Bayonne.”
