A mass of Christian burial was offered Sept. 11 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, Jersey City, for Dorothy “Dorsey” Tecchio, 77. She passed away peacefully on Sept. 6 at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River. She was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. Dorothy was a descendant of the Van Duyne family which came to the United States in 1649. Dorothy worked for many years as a computer analyst in New York City. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church and the 50+ Club. Dorothy leaves behind her husband, Paul. She is survived by her brothers, William and his wife Elaine, John and his wife Ann and Irving and his wife Helena. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia DiNicola and her late husband Frank, and her brother Michael. She was the godmother to her niece Keara DiNicola and her nephew, Vincent Paul Tecchio. Dorothy is also survived by many nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces. Services arranged by the Evergreen Funeral Home, Jersey City.
