Pet adoption & wellness clinic being held Sept. 12

BAYONNE – The Liberty Humane Society will hold its “Bayonne Barks Adoption and Pet Wellness Clinic Event,” its second Bayonne event, on the lower level of DiDomenico/16th Street Park on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Last year, Liberty Humane Society became the animal control and sheltering provider for the city.
“We’re so excited that we added Bayonne to the Liberty Humane Society family we decided to celebrate with our second Bayonne Barks program,” said spokeswoman Susie Zuckerman.
Services for the day include low-cost microchipping, a bring-your-own-dog-wash (bring your dog, and Liberty will provide supplies to get him/her cleaned), face painting for kids, balloon animals, kids games and prizes, crafts, and a name-your-price pet adoption promotion.
“When you meet your new best friend at our adoption event, you tell us how much you want to give for the adoption fee,” Zuckerman said.
Liberty Humane promises to have dozens of adoptable cats and dogs available.
Zuckerman said the society thanks the city of Bayonne and Mayor James Davis for their partnership in hosting this event.
