Due to inclement weather the first day of the Hoboken Italian Festival – slated to kick off Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. – was cancelled.
“We are disappointed, but due to the heavy rain expected we are closing the Hoboken Italian Festival this evening,” read a message on the festival’s website.
No word yet on whether the activities (performances from bands Rock Kandy and Italian Sound) will be postponed.
The Feast of the Madonna dei Martiri is now set to begin Friday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 11 p.m. and continue to Sept. 13.
