WEEHAWKEN – Workers were busy at the Hudson Riverfront 9/11 Memorial in Weehawken this week. They were cleaning the infinity pool in preparation for the anniversary this Friday of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
The memorial, located on the waterfront behind the River’s Edge condo units on Port Imperial Boulevard off Pershing Road, includes two large beams salvaged from the World Trade Center, standing in an infinity pool facing Manhattan.
Unveiled on Sept. 7, 2011, the memorial is on the site where about 60,000 people were evacuated by ferry from Manhattan to New Jersey on Sept. 11, 2001, following the attacks.
