A mass of Christian burial took place Aug. 29 at St. Anthony of Padua Polish RC Church, Jersey City, for Helen Josefia Dabros, 85. She passed away Aug. 26 at her home in Toms River. Helen was born in Poland, moving to Jersey City in 1962 with her husband and daughter. In Poland, Helen survived forced labor under the Nazis. Once in America she was able to work for 30 years in housekeeping at 48 Wall St. in Manhattan.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Walter. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Marie Competiello (Vittorio) and her son John Dabros. She is also survived by her grandchildren Frank Competiello, Josephine Suarez (Dennis), Matthew John, Julian, Jade and Samantha Dabros, and great-grandchildren Alexis and Victoria Competiello, Romeo, Enzo and Angelina Suarez.
