Live music and more for final Braddock Park farmers market of the season

NORTH HUDSON – The final farmers market of the season in James J. Braddock North Hudson Park on Sunday, Aug. 30 will include live music and a cooking demo. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the cooking demo beginning at noon, showcasing how to cook using items purchased at the market.
Beginning at 1 p.m., Walter Parks, the bass player for Richie Havens for more than 10 years, will play “a kind of swamp blues” and tell stories, according to Washington Park Association president Nick Caballero, who arranged the afternoon festivities.
“We’re closing the season with this event just to let the community know that we’re very happy that they were so receptive,” said Caballero. “They proved there is a need for more activities in Braddock Park and we look forward to collaborating with Senator [and North Bergen Mayor Nicholas] Sacco, Freeholder [Anthony] Vainieri, and the county executive again next year.”
