BAYONNE – The Bayonne Bridge will close for part of the upcoming weekend to accommodate ongoing construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey announced.
The bridge will be closed from 11:59 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, through 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23. The bridge will remain open from that point until 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24 to accommodate those returning from beaches and vacation destinations.
The bridge is closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays for daytime construction work.
The Bayonne Bridge shuttle service, which provides alternate transportation for pedestrians and cyclists, will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.
