To the Editor:
On behalf of the Bayonne Hispanic Association I would like to thank everyone who supported our Salsa / Dominoes Night (Capicua Salsera) and Paint Events.
On Saturday July 25, we held an instructional Salsa night at Amici’s at 184 Broadway. Our world renowned instructor, Ismael Otero, of Caribbean Soul gave a step by step class with Our Very Own DJ Kenny Inyo and Guest DJ Oscar accompanied with a Percussionist. We would personally like to thank Fran Szklarski, owner of Amici’s Fine Dining & Martini Lounge, for graciously offering his establishment to us for the evening.
Our two day event “Artistica” instructed by Erin Kachmar, provided an introduction to Spanish artists and Cubism, interpreting images similar to Picasso. We viewed the artistic works of Picasso, Diego Rivera, Frieda Kahlo, Francisco Goya, Miro, and Salvator Dali. Erin set up eye appealing still life objects for fragment sketching and watercolor painting. Erin was gracious enough to volunteer her time and I want to personally acknowledge her to show my gratitude.
Special thanks to Tasha at Blooms For You Floral Boutique at 718 Broadway. She created beautiful floating flowers for the tables. Tasha truly went above and beyond my expectations and we highly recommend her shop. Thank you to Rincon De Espana at 616 Broadway for the delicious food. We also would like to thank Pete Amadeo for his help coordinating the setup. You are the hardest working man in our city. Last but not least, thank you to the many volunteers who helped make these events spectacular. It was an honor to have worked with you and we look forward to doing so in the future.
