Former Nets player makes news for allegedly cashing counterfeit money order in Hoboken

HOBOKEN — The Associated Press and other media reported last week that former Brooklyn Nets player Tyshawn Taylor, a Hoboken native, turned himself in to Hoboken police on Aug. 6 for allegedly using a counterfeit money order in town.
According to the Associated Press, “The owners of the store say they filed a complaint with police after learning the order was fraudulent and Taylor refused to pay back the money.”
The story, first published on nj.com, said Taylor allegedly used the order in May. He currently lives in Secaucus.
