A mass of Christian burial was performed Aug. 8 at St. Paul of the Cross Church, Jersey City, for Elizabeth Mary Coady, 95, formerly of Union City. She passed away in hospice care at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, Pa. on Aug. 3, with her family by her side. She was born in Cape Broyle, Newfoundland, Canada to the late Edward and Catherine (Oldridge) Coady. She was a parishioner of St. Paul of the Cross R.C. Church in Jersey City for over 40 years before moving to Bethlehem. She promoted hundreds of family and friends as members for The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal located in Philadelphia.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and worked for the many charities she supported especially The Salvation Army, Boys Town and her church.
She is survived by her sister Bridget A. O’Keefe. Elizabeth is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary (Schultheis), James, Catherine (Manfre), Margaret (O’Brien), John, Joseph, Charles, Michael, William, Thomas, and Frank.
