Born in Jersey City, he graduated from St. Peter’s University and was a certified public accountant with a private practice in Hudson County until he retired. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (nee: Flynn) Branagan and daughter-in-law, Martha. He is survived by his sons Francis X. Branagan; Sean (John) P. Branagan, and his wife, Lynn; Joseph A. Branagan and his wife, Kate; Mark J. Branagan and his daughter Mary Beth Guckian, and her husband, Kevin. He his also survived by his ex-wife Marge Andreotta and many other relatives and.
