Dear Editor:
Regarding the North Bergen Pre-School in Braddock Park, I am writing in reply to a ridiculous letter from Robert Walden which was full of completely false statements.
My daughter Sofia attended the pre-school last year and it was wonderful. She loved her teachers and classmates. She loved being in the park, with plenty of grass and trees. It was a safe, clean beautiful environment that every young North Bergen family should also enjoy when their kids are small.
Curiously, we did not see any of the truly bizarre and weird things Mr. Walden apparently sees. No condoms, no rats, no snakes, no skunks, no cancer causing chemicals and most certainly no “bodies” floating around! Mr. Walden, in your zeal to destroy our township’s fine pre-school program, you are exposing yourself to be a man with no respect for the truth.
Apparently keeping young families like mine out of our park is now your number one mission in life. How sad for you.
Once again, here are the facts. All the township is doing is replacing the old trailers (that have been there for the last 15 years) with a small new permanent home that won’t take up any more space and won’t add any more traffic. This will save North Bergen taxpayers over ten million dollars. It will not harm the park at all. A new park will be built on Paterson Plank Road for Downtown residents. There will be a net gain in open space, not a loss.
The pre-school project is a “win win” for everyone in North Bergen. One can only wonder what truly motivates this man.
Sincerely,
Olivia DeLeon
