Dear Editor:
On an evening a couple of weeks ago, I was walking on Washington Street, and at 3rd street, I came upon a group of Hoboken Police officers who had surrounded a man, talking to him. So I stopped and joined the several other people who were watching. After 5 – 10 minutes, one of the officers turns to me and says, “keep on walking sir.” Nobody else was asked to move, and all of us were about 15 feet plus away from them.
I feel that I was singled out because I was carrying a SLR camera around my neck. To that officer, and the entire police department, photography is not a crime!
It’s called freedom of speech. Thank you.
