Funeral services took place July 11 at the Friendship Baptist Church, Bayonne, for Evangeline “Eva” Johnson, 80, of Jersey City. She passed away July 5. Eva, the only child of the late Adeline and Arthur Taylor, was born and raised in Bayonne, and moved to Jersey City, following her marriage to the late Theodore “Ted/Sonny” Johnson. She started her professional career at the former Bayonne Naval Base, and was subsequently employed for many years at Colgate Palmolive and the Bank of Tokyo.
She is survived by her “brother” cousin, Philip Burrell (Charlsetta); special cousins Ida Martin (William), Helen Darrell (Ellsworth), Florence Ridley (Edward), Bruce Robert Taylor Robinson, Donna Rhodes, and Lisa Ingraham; sisters-in-law, Helen Glover, Barbara Powell (Elijah Monroe); nephews and nieces Barry, Lisa and Scott Glover, Karen Singleton (Jeffrey), Terence Powell (Tania); friends Noreen Feehnan, Don and Gail Campbell, Chandre Jenkins, Jeanette Mc Cray.
