65, of East Brunswick died July 2, 2015, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Born in Bayonne, he lived there until 1979. He was a boilermaker for Local Union No. 28 and a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, received two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He was predeceased by his wife, Karen Kowalczyk Mahnken in 1999. He is survived by his sons Richard Mahnken and his fiancée, Kimberly Chalmers; and Jeremy Mahnken; his daughter, Stacey Marie Mahnken and her fiancé, Mark Poko; and his brother, William Mahnken and his wife, Patricia.
