Funeral mass took place June 19 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, for Michael Calnen, 68. He died June 16 at the Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne. Born in Jersey City he was a lifelong resident. Michael graduated from the Culinary Institute in New Haven, Connecticut in 1970 and during his career he worked for various restaurants in New Jersey. He is the son of the late Charles and Stephanie, the brother of Darlene Saccente of Georgia, Kathleen Shemke and Stephen Calnen both of California, and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
