A funeral mass was offered June 13 at Sts. Joseph and Michael Church for Joseph W. Farrell, 89, of Union City. He passed away June 10. He was born in Jersey City and grew up in North Bergen before living in Union City for over 50 years. Joseph was a self-employed attorney in Union City for many years serving in many civic and municipal capacities. He was a graduate of Columbia University and Columbia Law School and a member of their alumni association. Joseph also served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was the husband of Patricia Farrell and the father of William A. Farrell and wife Nancy Savitt. He was the brother of the late Helen Rigo and Thomas Farrell Jr. He was the uncle of Joseph Rigo, MaryLou Fattoross and Samuel Fattoross as well as the great uncle of Katherine Fattoross and many other nieces and nephews.
