ROBBIANI, ROBERT G.

Funeral services have been held for Robert G. “Uncle Bob” Robbiani, 75, of Leeds, N.Y. He passed away May 28 peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in, Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Inspector August and Rita Robbiani. Bob resided in Weehawken for over 50 years and began spending weekends in Leeds during the 1970’s. After retirement he moved to the area full time in 2001.
He was awarded the Edgar G. Bacon four year scholarship to Rutgers University in 1957. He served in the US Army, worked for The Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing, and was a social worker for the Bureau of NYC Location Support, Supervisor of Child Protective Services, Supervisor of The Men’s Shelter in NYC, and the Supervisor of The Women’s Shelter in Bronx, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dee Cotherman Robbiani.
Survivors include his two children, Debra Phillips (Levon Bedrosian) of Stormville, NY and Ray Phillips of NY; his two grandchildren, Alexandra Deette Hazelton and Brandon Phillips, his four siblings, Rita (Milan) Straka, Aurora Hoover, Michael (Kathleen) Robbiani, Thomas (Jean) Robbiani, and many nieces and nephews.
