HOBOKEN—Public housing residents will have a chance to weigh in on what they hope to see in a new Executive Director of the Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) at a public meeting this Wednesday, June 3.
Simone Barefield of Gans, Gans & Associates, the consultant leading the search for HHA Interim Executive Director Robert DiVincent’s permanent replacement, will attend a special meeting of the HHA Board of Commissioners on June 3 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Monroe Gardens, located at 221 Jackson Street. The public is invited to attend.
Gans, an executive search firm based in Florida, is currently conducting a nationwide hunt for a new executive director who can lead the HHA full-time. DiVincent, who stepped in to replace terminated director Carmelo Garcia last fall, is also the director of the West New York and Weehawken Housing Authorities and only comes to Hoboken part of the week.
HHA Board Chair Dana Wefer said she expects to have eight candidates for interviews from Gans within 30 days. A new executive director should be selected by September, when DiVincent’s contract with the HHA runs out, said Wefer.
