Bayonne Memorial Day Parade committee announces line of march

BAYONNE – The Bayonne Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to kickoff on Monday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m., so the parade committee has announced assembly points and the line of march for participating groups.
This year’s parade will be held in memory of Spc. Rafael Nieves Jr. and Petty Officer 3rd Class Dennis Miranda. After its kickoff at 5th Street and Broadway, the parade will travel up to 32nd Street, where it will end.
Memorial Day Parade Committee officers are: Chairman Glen Flora, Secretary Barry Jones,
Chief of Staff John Zmyslowski, Color Guard Captain Frank Perrucci, and Chaplain Louis Giovanni.
The line of march is:
First Division Staging (on corner of 5th Street): U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard, and Grand Marshal Glen Flora, in a military Jeep; the U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Memorial Day Parade Committee Banner. All Veterans Posts Patrick Cahill (bagpiper), Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 226 (lead post), American Legion Post 19 , American Legion Post 19 Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 19, American Legion Mackenzie Post 165 , American Legion Post 165 Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, Flournoy Gethers Post 7470 VFW, Ladies Auxiliary Post 7470, Catholic War Veterans Post 1612, Korean War Veterans Association of Hudson County, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 151, Marine Corps League Bayonne Detachment No. 191, American Merchant Marines, American Polish Veterans

Second Division Staging (from Broadway to Lord Avenue behind veterans): Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Knights, Mayor James Davis, City Council President Sharon Ashe- Nadrowski, along with other City Council members; First Ward Councilman Thomas Cotter,
Second Ward Councilman Salvatore Gullace, Third Ward Councilman Gary La Pelusa, Freeholder Anthony Romano, and Sheriff Frank Schillari.
Third Division Staging (on 5th Street from Broadway to Avenue C): Bayonne Police Pipes and Drums; Bayonne Police Department, Bayonne Fire Department, Bayonne Fire Canteen; McCabe’s Ambulance Service, IMTT Fire Brigade, and American Red Cross.
Fourth Division Staging (from Lord Avenue to Orient Street): Red Mike’s Band, Donate Life Hudson Group, Hudson County Sheriff’s Department, Hudson County Correction Department
Austin Wright’s Dojo, and Captain America.
Fourth Division Staging (in Mary J. Donohoe school yard): Schools Superintendent Dr. Patricia McGeehan,
Assistant Superintendent Robert Craig, Assistant Superintendent Leo Smith, Curriculum Team Leader Dr. Dennis Degnan, Elvis truck, Henry Harris School, Walter Robinson School, Mary J. Fifth Division Staging (from Lexington Avenue to Silver Street): Soldiers’ Angels, Mt. Carmel Lyceum, Boy Scouts Troup 19, Girl Scouts, Ibpoew Elks Lodge 461, Pride of Bayonne Temple 226, and Ms. Huguette’s Dance and Theatrical Studio.
Sixth Division Staging (from Silver Street to Isabella): Staten Island Pipers Band, Concerned Citizens of Bayonne, Assumption Boy Scouts Troup & Pack 27, Pop Warner Football and Cheer,
Omega Lodge, Wallace Temple, Bayonne Youth Center, Gary La Pelusa Association, and Bridgemen.
Any other groups wishing to participate will be placed at the end of the line of march, according to parade spokesman John Zmyslowski.
The parade rain date is May 31.
