Radil, Bajor key Penguins victory

Still waiting to take to the court with their personnel intact, the (0-3) Islanders once again faced the (2-0) Penguins in a JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division Floor Hockey rematch. Escaping with a 3-2 victory in their first meeting, the Penguins looked to get out to a fast start. The game plan paid off as James Bajor assisted Jared Radil on two goals in the first five minutes of play. As the “Pens” attacked, the “Isles” turned to their sharp shooters as Julian Giron blasted a net jet from 25 feet out with Elliott Santana on the assist. Leading 2-1, the Penguins kept the heat on as James Bajor scored off an assist by Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes. Back down by two goals at 3-1, the Islanders’ Jake Peregrin railed in another long distance bulls-eye to make it 3-2, Penguins. Answering quickly, the Penguins’ Jared Radil hit the “hat trick” mark with his third goal of the bout. Down 4-2, the Islanders continued to play “bombs away” as Julian Giron powered in his second goal. Dueling blow for blow, the Penguins once again took a two goal advantage as Jared Radil made it 5-3 with his fourth goal. Breaking form, the Islanders’ Jaden Subacz finally battled deep into “Pens” territory to assist J. P. Egan on a net gem to cut the Penguins’ lead to 5-4. With his pads blistered after collecting 24 saves, the Islanders’ amazing goal tender Harsh Easwar finally succumbed as the Penguins nailed two back breaking goals as Caitlin Feeley assisted Megan Feeley and Drew Radil on late game goals. Down 7-4, the Isles pounded away till the final whistle but the Penguins held on as Matt Doyle and Kasper Hooks anchored the defense to seal the win.
