BAYONNE – City firefighters responded to a blaze at a one-family home at 66 Trask Ave. on Wednesday, April 22 at about 5:40 p.m., a fire official said.
Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with smoke and a small basement fire, according to Bayonne Fire Department Chief Gregory Rogers.
“Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire that resulted in minimal damage to a cabinet and clothing adjacent to a running washer and dryer,” Rogers said.
Five family members occupy the home, and they were able to reenter the building.
There were no reported injuries.
The department investigator determined that the fire originated in the laundry room, and its cause is under investigation.
