Private funeral services have been held for Douglas Schlossberg, 68, of Jersey City. He died peacefully on April 7. Douglas was born in Jersey City and lived there all his life. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Local 253 in Bergen County for 40 years, before retiring in 2007. He was a veteran of the Navy during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Hakes; his two children, Jason and Jill; his brother Richard, and sister Deborah Rainville. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara.
