87, passed away on April 6, 2015. Born and raised in Bayonne, he lived in Roselle, Seaside Park, and Basking Ridge. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from NYU and a Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 30 years with Hoffmann-La Roche and Berlex Laboratories. He served as the mayor of Roselle from 1992 – 1996. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis W. Safaryn; his son, Dr. John E. Safaryn and his wife, Elaine; and his daughter, Susan S. Conroy and her husband, Sean. Joseph he was the grandfather of four; and he is also survived by his sister-in law, Doris Wagner, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his six brothers and sisters.
