A funeral service was held Apri8l 8 at Temple Beth-El, Jersey City, for Allan S. Harrison, 84, of Jersey City. He passed away peacefully on April 4. “Big Al” was a gentlemen, athlete, patriot, and scholar. He was born and raised in West New York, attended Memorial High School and moved to Jersey City in 1966. Allan was a retired insurance claims adjuster and proprietor of Harrison Ltd., Jersey City. Allan served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He attended the University of Seattle at Washington. Allan was a member and coach at the Jewish Community Center, Bayonne. He was also a member of West New York Young Men’s Club. Allan was an avid horseman and loved college sports.
Allan was the husband of 49 years to Angelica; father of Erik and wife Susan Matteo Harrison, Nicole Harrison Garcia and husband Rudy Garcia; grandfather of Matthew and Alexandra Harrison, Andrea, Antonina and Francisco Garcia; son of the late Harry and Molly Harrison. brother of the late Harold and wife Mildred, Estelle Stark and husband Stacy and Irwin Harrison. Also survived by his sister-in laws Ellen Harrison, Mary Ann and Adele Mazza. He was predeceased by his brother-in laws Frank and Stanley Mazza. Also survived by his uncle Italo Crincoli, Pasqualina Mesbah and a host of nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 Jersey City.
