Private funeral services were held for Hugh A. McGreevey, 87, of Carteret. He passed away peacefully on March 28 at his home. Born in Jersey City, Hugh resided in Carteret for many years. He honorably served in the United States Army and later served as a police officer and lieutenant for the Jersey City Police Department Motorcycle Squad. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and PSOA along with a Teamster from 40 years. Hugh was predeceased by his wife, Anne, son, Michael and brother, John. Surviving are his children, Margaret McGreevey and Joanne Reynolds, grandchildren, Bridget, Lauren, Brandon, Ryann, a great grandchild, Deja and a sister, Patricia McGreevey along with the Sorino Family.
