A funeral mass was offered March 19 at St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken, for Domenico De Pinto, 86, a resident of Weehawken since 1970. He passed away surrounded by his family at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen on March 16. Born in Molfetta, Italy, where he served in the Italian Navy, Mr. De Pinto came to the United States in 1969. He was an avid soccer fan with a great love for Italian music. A retired construction worker with Nero Concrete Specialists in Hackensack, Mr. De Pinto was a member of Union Local 3 in Jersey City, retiring in 1990.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Antonia (nee: Farinola); his two sons, Cosimo and his wife Lorenza, and Gino and his wife Tanya; his two daughters, Anna Mongelli and her husband Giuseppe, and Rosa Lacu and her husband Jean Louis; two sisters, Luigia De Pinto and Elisa Fasciano; and his grandchildren, Maria Schneider and her husband Patrick, Antonia, Gaetano, and Giovanna. Domenico was predeceased by his sister,Consiglia Sciancalepore; and his brothers, Giuseppe, Mauro, and Antonio De Pinto.
A member of the Madonna Dei Matre society all his life, Domenico served three terms as president and at the time of his passing held the title of honorary president. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
