In a dream

Dear Editor:
I woke up this morning midway in a dream. I was in an old garage in Jersey City near the Grove St. Station. It had been converted into an apartment. It was a pretty unappealing apartment, but as the tenor of the block and people on it set in I exclaimed this is how Hoboken used to be and thought this might be worth moving for.
As someone has said Hoboken always had rich and poor but they all socialized together. It wasn’t a classist community. If you have only lived in class demarcated communities (as Hoboken is today), you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s a very wonderful thing (and pretty much what most major religions, with good reason, prescribe).
We don’t have to be this way. It’s how we comport ourselves. Let’s try not to self-identify so clearly as posh and look everyone directly in the eye when passing on the street.
