Secaucus mayor, council to join march for worker’s rights

SECAUCUS – The mayor of Secaucus and members of city council will rally with displaced workers of one of the town’s premier office buildings this afternoon at 4 p.m.
After 21 years of service, nine office cleaners at 300 Lighting Way were let go from their jobs when the new building owner hired a non-union cleaning contractor that refused to hire the union workers and slashed wages and benefits.
The town council plans to pass a resolution calling on the building owner to use responsible contractors that will respect workers’ rights.
