A funeral mass took place March 6 at St. Joseph’s RC Church for Thomas Pilovsky, 46, of Barnegat. He passed away Feb. 27. Thomas was born in Bayonne and lived in Barnegat since 1999. He was a firefighter for the Jersey City Fire Dept. for the past 18 years. He was a veteran of the Marines during Desert Storm. Thomas was active in many organizations, including Firefighter Local 1066, Emerald Society, Exempts and Reliefs, American Legion Post 232 of Barnegat, Barnegat Recreation as coach, umpire and referee, Doyle’s pool league on team Stick-it.
He is survived by his wife Lisa; his children, Christopher Gil, Thomas Jr., Jeremy, and Alyssa; his father William and wife Maria; his mother Florence Starita and late husband Carlo; two Brothers, William and wife Karen, Danny Starita and wife Maria; two sisters, Lisa Manetta and husband Angelo, Deanna Robertson and husband Kenny; and a grandson, Christopher Gil Jr. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Starita. Services arranged by the Fallon Funeral Home, Jersey City.
